ScotRail has welcomed its largest-ever group of apprentices, with 46 positions created across a wide range of roles.
The train operator’s latest intake includes opportunities in engineering, customer service, business support, and graduate apprenticeships.
The new group includes 42 external applicants and four existing employees. It takes ScotRail’s total number of apprentices to 92 – the highest in the train operator’s history.
ScotRail apprenticeships offer a mix of practical experience, formal qualifications, and structured mentoring to support learning and development across the business.
With apprentices currently based across engineering, administration, IT, customer service, and finance, ScotRail is working hard to make sure opportunities are accessible to young people from all backgrounds.
Four Customer Service Apprentices recently completed their 12-month programme and secured permanent roles within the business, which is testament to the quality of the scheme and the hard work of the individuals involved.
Julie Dale, ScotRail HR Director, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be welcoming our largest-ever intake of apprentices. It’s a real investment in the future of Scotland’s Railway.
“Apprenticeships offer a brilliant route into the railway, helping us nurture the next generation of engineers, customer service colleagues, and business professionals.
“Each new apprentice brings fresh energy, ideas, and ambition to our business, and we’re committed to supporting them every step of the way and helping them thrive.”
