Novosound, the Scottish company developing ultrasound technology, has appointed John Cameron as executive director to spearhead international expansion of its breakthrough Ceilidh platform.

Mr Cameron has leadership experience in scaling industrial and technology businesses, most recently, as CEO of CB Technology where he delivered a fivefold increase in revenues and led the company through a private equity exit.

His appointment comes a month after Novosound hired medical technology executive Gary Beale as executive vice chairman.

Mr Cameron’s career also includes senior roles at global corporations including General Electric, Sabic, and Marioff (a UTC company), where he consistently drove double-digit growth, international expansion, and industry-leading partnerships.

Dave Hughes, founder and CEO of Novosound, commented: “John has a proven track record of scaling industrial technology companies, building international partnerships, and delivering growth through commercial excellence.

“His appointment comes at a pivotal time as we expand our Ceilidh platform into major energy and infrastructure projects globally.”

Mr Cameron said: “Novosound is one of the most exciting deep tech companies in the UK, with a breakthrough ultrasound platform that has the potential to transform industrial asset monitoring.

“Ceilidh is already attracting strong interest from leading energy operators, and I look forward to working with the team to build on this momentum, scale internationally, and forge long-term strategic partnerships that redefine how industry manages safety, efficiency, and sustainability.”
