Las Vegas Strip casino signs rock legend for new residency

Las Vegas casinos are festive destinations for the December holidays.

In recent years, pop stars have scheduled holiday residencies and performances on and off the Las Vegas Strip to sold-out audiences.

1970s pop star Barry Manilow brought his “Manilow: A Very Barry Christmas” show to the off-Strip International Theater at Westgate Las Vegas two years in a row for five shows in November and December 2023 and six shows from Dec. 5-14, 2024.

Manilow performed a mix of his classic hits, such as “Mandy” and “Looks Like We Made It,” with holiday classics like “White Christmas,” “Home for the Holidays,” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”

No Barry Manilow Vegas holiday shows in 2025

Unfortunately for Manilow fans, the “I Write The Songs” singer is not performing “Manilow: A Very Barry Christmas” for the 2025 holiday season in Las Vegas. Maybe he will return in 2026.

Instead, music fans have other options for this year’s holiday season.

Backstreet Boys and Bruno Mars book holiday shows

Popular boy band Backstreet Boys extended their residency at Sphere Las Vegas, which was supposed to end on Aug. 24, 2025, with seven holiday season shows set for Dec. 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, 2025, Jan. 2 and 3, 2026.

Backstreet Boys will have plenty of competition for the New Year’s Eve residency dollar, as superstar pop singer Bruno Mars continues a holiday tradition as he has signed on to perform two holiday season residency shows at the Park MGM Dolby Live Theater on the Las Vegas Strip on Dec. 30-31, 2025.

The popular singer has performed on New Year’s Eve at Park MGM each year since the Dec. 31, 2016, show, except for 2020, when Covid-19 kept a lot of venues dark.

Prior to the January shows, Fogerty performed a Vegas residency for six shows at the Encore Theater Nov. 9-19, 2022,  after postponing shows he previously scheduled between Feb. 23 and March 5, 2022, for unspecified reasons.

Fogerty also canceled nine shows scheduled for Nov. 4-21, 2020, at the Encore Theater because of the Covid-19 pandemic and rescheduled them for October 2021.
