A newly-formed Glasgow-based investment group, tbh Ventures, has announced its first acquisition with the purchase of management consultancy Strategem.
It operates a Scotland-wide initiative focused on early stage exporting experience and supports more than 100 companies per year.
The business has also partnered with Scottish Development International, Glasgow City Council, East Lothian Council, and South of Scotland Enterprise to support hundreds of Scottish businesses across a range of challenges including leadership, growth, internationalisation and sales.
Since its founding in 1999, Strategem has been led by managing director, John Meiklejohn, who will continue to be active in the growth of Strategem as founding consultant, with the full team of ten consulting partners also retained.
Mr Meiklejohn said: “This deal marks a significant milestone for Strategem and ensures continued growth and opportunity for the future of the business. By working closely with tbh Ventures, we will unlock further value and experience for both our clients and our people, building on the strong foundation we’ve created.”
The acquisition of Strategem underscores tbh Ventures’ ambitions for growth and marks a significant milestone for the new firm as it builds its investment portfolio in Scotland.
Dylan Harper, partner at tbh Ventures and incoming CEO at Strategem, said: “Our core ethos is to help business owners exit in a way that supports their business and their people, and I look forward to working with John and the team to build on their success.
“Looking ahead at the next phase of Strategem, our focus is on growing the business strategically in Scotland and beyond, helping even more companies achieve international growth.”
