Carlos Alcaraz was born in El Palmar, a village in Murcia, Spain on May 5, 2003. His father, also named Carlos, was a tennis coach and taught the younger Carlos at 4 years old. He quickly rose in the ranks in his youth, and by his teenage years, he was winning 9 titles. At 18, he reached his first Grand Slam quarterfinal at the 2021 U.S. Open. A year later, he would win the tournament.
