Nobles will reopen under a new owner

A much-loved bar in Leith will quickly reopen with a ‘vibrant’ offering, writes JULENA DRUMI

One door closes and another opens. Leith’s historic Nobles Bar is about to begin an exciting new era under new ownership. Bellfield Brewery has signed a new lease for the much-loved Constitution Street landmark, promising fresh energy and a modern taproom twist to the iconic venue.

The previous tenant closed the doors on the bar at the end of September, prompting an outpouring of dismay from current and former regulars.

The good news is the closure will be only temporary. It will remain shut for a short period while the bar and cellar areas undergo refurbishment and a new team is recruited and trained.

“When the doors reopen, Nobles will combine its classic Victorian character with a new, vibrant offering tailored for both locals and visitors,” says the team at local brewery Bellfield.

Here’s a taste of what beer and food lovers can expect when the bar reopens:

• An expanded beer line-up – 14 draught keg lines pouring Bellfield’s award-winning craft beers alongside guest brews from top breweries.
• Traditional real ale – Real ale fans can look forward to dedicated cask lines.
• Events & tap takeovers – a rotating schedule of beer launches, collaborations, and community events.
• Food pop-ups & pairings – exciting partnerships with Edinburgh’s best independent street food operators, plus a brand-new breakfast and brunch menu.

Bellfield Brewery director Alistair Brown said: “Nobles has always been a landmark in Leith. Our goal is to celebrate its history while bringing in new energy – more beers, more events, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects everything we love about craft beer and community.”

The brewery is behind the community-driven Abbeyhill Taproom. Now, the team is attempting to bring that same spirit to Leith.
