Rutland Square Spirits spicing up Dubai market – Daily Business

Nishant Sharma: ‘Be where the world travels

Rutland Square Spirits, the Edinburgh-based drinks group blending whisky, rum and gin with Indian tea, is expanding into Dubai.

It will launch its Chai Spiced Gin and Chai Spiced Rum at Barracuda resort, with plans to move into Dubai Duty Free.

Former banker Nishant Sharma, founder and CEO of Rutland Square Spirits, said: “Our strategy is simple. Be present where the world travels.

“Dubai connects the GCC [the member states of the Gulf Corporation Council], the UK and Asia. It is the right stage to share our chai-spiced profile with a global audience and to build lasting partnerships in travel retail.”

Actor, entrepreneur and investor in Rutland Square Spirits, Vivek Oberoi, added: “Dubai is home to discerning consumers who value story, craft and quality.

“Rutland Square brings a fresh voice to premium spirits, and the chai signature is both familiar and exciting for this market.”

Rutland Square Spirits’ signature Chai Spiced range draws on a century-old family recipe, hand-crafted in small batches to deliver a unique fusion of Scottish distilling expertise and Indian flavour.

What began as a passion project to unite Scotland’s craftsmanship with India’s vibrant spirit has evolved into a £30 million-valued international brand.
