Magnus Llewellin, former editor of The Times and The Sunday Times Scotland, has joined thought leadership group Prosper as director of policy and membership.
He extends the role previously held by Clare Reid who was director of policy and public affairs until moving to Fintech Scotland as strategic innovation director.
Mr Llewellin, 60, was recently announced as a consultant to Debbie Byers’ agency To Be Continued but will step down from that role while continuing to offer speaking services.
He said that in his new position he will further Prosper’s engagement with decision makers across the political spectrum, as well as in business and the public sector.
Prosper was formerly the Scottish Council for Development and Industry which was set up in the early 1930s when the banks, trade unions, chambers of commerce and local authorities came together to help rebuild the depression-hit economy.
“We’re not in a depression just now,” said Mr Llewellin, “but these are uncertain times that require people from across sectors to come together.”
