Las Vegas Strip Sphere signs huge rock band for record residency

Sphere Las Vegas opened on Sept. 29, 2023, with U2’s the highly anticipated Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere residency that attracted a crowd of music stars in the audience, including Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry to the first show.

Hollywood stars also lined up to see the initial show, including Matt Damon, Orlando Bloom, Bryan Cranston, Jon Hamm, Neil Patrick Harris, and Luke Wilson.

The U2/UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere residency ran for 40 shows and set the stage for more amazing concerts and events at the magical globe.

The venue showcased its Sphere Experiences productions with “Interactive Experiences” and “Postcard From Earth,” which both debuted on Oct. 6, 2023, and on Aug. 28, 2025, “The Wizard of Oz at Sphere” opened.

Once U2 launched its residency, more artists began rolling into Sphere Las Vegas, starting with a short residency by popular jam band Phish performing four shows April 18, 19, 20 and 21, 2024.

Dead & Company broke U2’s residency shows record

Next, Grateful Dead spinoff band Dead & Company opened its “Dead Forever Live at Sphere” residency on May 16, 2024, and closed the engagement on May 17, 2025, setting a new record for most shows at Sphere after performing 48 shows.

Sphere signed its first country music acts with Kenny Chesney’s 15-show residency, which opened May 22, 2025, and closed June 21. It also signed Zac Brown Band for a four-show “Love & Fear” engagement on Dec. 5, 6, 12, and 13, 2025, which coincides with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Dec. 4-13 at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Backstreet Boys, No Doubt schedule Sphere residencies

Legendary superstar 1990s boy band Backstreet Boys opened its “Into the Millennium” residency at Sphere Las Vegas on July 11, 2025, and extended the sold-out engagement to 35 total shows, ending on Feb. 15, 2026.

Sphere scheduled electronic artist Illenium for a residency in March and April 2026, popular Mexican artist Carin Leon arrives in September 2026 for a residency, and iconic rock band No Doubt, fronted by superstar singer Gwen Stefani, will launch a six-show residency at Sphere Las Vegas, beginning May 6, 2026.

Eagles to break Sphere residency record

Finally, legendary rock band Eagles returns to Sphere Las Vegas for its record-setting residency as the group adds four more dates to its engagement to set a new record for the most shows performed by an artist at the venue since it opened, with 52 concerts once it completes the performances.

Eagles fans can take advantage of the Artist presale beginning Oct. 22 for the four new shows scheduled for Feb. 20, 21, 27, and 28, 2026, which celebrate the 50th anniversary of the band’s release of the best-selling album in U.S. history, “Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975.”

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. Pacific time, starting at $175 all-in pricing for each ticket, including taxes and fees.

Eagles in September added four shows to the sold-out “Live In Concert At Sphere” residency at Sphere Las Vegas, scheduled for Jan. 23, 24, 30, & 31, 2026.

Those additional shows will increase the residency’s number of performances to 48 since the band launched the residency on Sept. 20, 2024, and will tie the band for the most concerts at the venue with Dead & Company, once Eagles complete their Jan. 31, 2026, show.

The newly added Feb. 20 show will break the record for most shows performed at Sphere, with 49 shows.
