Frontier Airlines has made its business around being a low-cost carrier that offers no frills. Passengers buy a ticket for a cheap price and then pay extra fees for everything from a boarding assignment to checked bags, getting on early, and pretty much anything else they can sell you.
Top-tier Frontier Miles program members, however, get a number of perks that improve the overall experience of flying on the airline. In fact, if you hit Gold Elite, you get benefits that negate a lot of the extra costs Frontier customers traditionally have to pay.

A Frontier Miles members earns miles and points for every $1 spent with the airline.
Benefits start at Silver Elite, but the real perks kick in at Gold Elite.
“When you join Frontier Miles, you earn Travel Miles and Elite Status Points. For every qualifying $1 spent on FlyFrontier.com, you earn 10x miles and 10x points for just being a member. Miles can be redeemed for FREE flights and points can be accrued to earn Elite Status,” the airline shared on its website.
Generally, spending money and taking flights is the only way to earn Frontier Miles status, but a new offer lets you buy your way to the top.

A new way to earn Frontier Miles Elite Gold status

To redeem the offer, you have to visit StatusMatch.com and enter your name, Frontier Miles login email, Frontier Miles number, and your loyalty program number from one of the qualifying airlines.
Assuming your information checks out, you will be brought to a payment page. Once your credit card goes through, there’s nothing left to do.
“Gold Status will be active until: 31 December 2026. Upon successful application your Frontier account will be upgraded within 24 hours,” the website shared.
Why Frontier Airlines status matters
“While a low-cost airline will never be able to offer the same breadth of perks as a mainstream airline with lounges and an extensive international network, status can make a big difference in both comfort and cost for those who fly back-and-forth on the same route or otherwise travel frequently with a given airline,” TravelHost Senior Editor and TheStreet Senior Travel Reporter Veronika Bondarenko shared.
It’s rare that any airline offers a match on this broad a basis, but buying a status match can be very valuable.

- American Airlines adds new features for some passengers
“For travelers who hold status with another airline and are used to seat selection and priority boarding being automatically included, matched benefits can be the motivation they need to choose the budget carrier where they otherwise might not have — a win for travelers when they need to take a route that their main airline may not offer but especially for Frontier in its efforts to win over new customers,” she added.
These deals are often not public.
“Airlines don’t typically advertise these chances to match rewards points, and some wait until they see a customer traveling a certain number of miles with them first. Sometimes it takes a little legwork, like calling or emailing a rep,” The Points Guy told the NY Post.
Frontier Airlines wants more market share
Over the past few quarters, Frontier Airline (ULCC) has watched Southwest, JetBlue, and Alaska Airline all cut service to certain markets. Spirit Airlines has made cuts and has issued a “going concern” report that it could run out of operating cash.
“We’re seeing an improvement to our forward bookings for August and beyond as the industry adjusts capacity. Encouragingly, in Frontier markets specifically, we’re seeing a greater reduction in competitive capacity than the average in the industry by about 3 points,” Frontier CEO Barry L. Biffle shared during its second-quarter earnings call.

Biffle believes that his company will benefit from a rival (almost certainly Spirit Airlines) abandoning routes.
“We see a certain carrier getting out of a lot of our routes. We suspect they’re going to continue to do that. So we think that’s unique to Frontier. And I think in broader, it’s very clear with the majority of all domestic capacity losing money at this point, I think you should expect continued capacity reductions,” he added.
