Ocean Terminal, the shopping mall and leisure facility in Leith, is being put for sale, according to property sources.

One wing alongside the Royal Yacht Britannia has been demolished as part of a plan to replace retail space with residential and leisure-based occupiers.

Real estate publication Green Street News reports that the development’s owner Ambassador Investment Manaagement has put it on the market for £150 million.

First opened in 2001, Ocean Terminal has struggled to build footfall. The Debenhams store has been demolished along with a car park and an M&S Food store also closed.

It is hoped that the arrival of the tram, with a stop at Ocean Terminal, will help encourage visitors.
