Television and radio presenter Kaye Adams has been put on leave from her BBC Radio Scotland show following alleged ‘bullying’ complaints from staff.
The 62-year-old will step back from the 9am Mornings show while the corporation investigates this latest complaint against a high profile host. Ms Adams not been on air since 6 October.
She has hosted the three hour phone-in show since 2010 for which she earns an eye-watering £155,000-a-year. She also hosts ITV’s Loose Women.
According to Mailonline Ms Adams she “shouted and screamed” at staff. It is believed complaints were raised under the BBC’s Call It Out scheme to address bad behaviour in the workplace, set up in the aftermath of the scandal over former MasterChef presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode.
A representative for Adams denied the allegations and told The Sun: “No complaints have been presented to Ms Adams by the BBC.
“Further, she has worked for BBC Radio Scotland for more than 15 years and in that time has never had any issue raised about her.”
BBC Scotland refused to comment on the allegations, but confirmed Adams had not permanently left the organisation.
A spokesperson said: “We would not comment on any individual case.
“If any complaints or concerns are raised we have robust internal processes in place to manage these.”
However, the BBC reported the allegations on its own website saying it “understands an investigation has been launched, though the corporation would not comment”.
A source told Mailonline that Ms Adams not expected back on air for at least two weeks while the investigation continues.
It was reported that she was asked to attend a meeting with the station’s new head of audio, Victoria Easton Riley, on 8 October.
Ms Riley is said to be behind plans for a shake-up of BBC Scotland radio schedules including changes to Good Morning Scotland and Mornings which will be presented by Connie McLaughlin from Monday.
